Eggs Benedict has had the reputation of being a luxurious brunch item, eaten on special occasions at special restaurants. Now, this rich dish — which typically consists of half an English muffin, topped with ham or Canadian bacon, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce — is available at many restaurants in different variations at a wide range of prices. We polled eggs Benedict lovers on their favorite spots and versions, and we tried our best to get to as many places as possible.
At $6.99, Good to Grill's eggs Benedict is the cheapest Benedict we found. (It also comes with your choice of a side starch.) The Ka Lei eggs are served over grilled baguettes. And to keep the hollandaise from being run-of-the-mill, kitchen manager Shane Takasane says they add cayenne pepper to the mix. The result is a sauce that gives your throat a spicy tickle.
