HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A keiki corner, massage tables, marina boat rides, and Oahu's best chili! Chefs from across the island face off for the coveted title, "King of Chili."
That's all happening this weekend at the Koko Marina Chili Cook-Off. The event benefits several non-profits including the Lokahi Giving Project and the Culinary Institute of the Pacific.

To bean or not to bean, that will be the question on everyone's mind for the Koko Marina Center Chili Cook Off on Saturday, April 24 from 5 pm - 9 pm in the Marina Courtyard. Popular local chefs will duel on the East Side for the coveted title "King of Chili" with such categories as "Absolut Best Chili", and "Best Use of Local Products" voted by celebrity judges as well as the crowd favorite "People's Choice" award. With great entertainment, unique chili concoctions and a chance to win a Neighbor Island Getaway, everyone is invited to this fundraiser under the stars to benefit the Culinary Institute of the Pacific.
A Partymasters production, the chili cook off event has been re-located to the waterfront East Oahu center. "We felt that Koko Marina provided a beautiful backdrop to our event with its marina-setting," said veteran event coordinator and president of Partymasters Hawaii, Justin Yoshino, who has been coordinating this event for three years. Conrad Nonaka, Director of the Culinary Institute of the Pacific, was also instrumental in pulling the event together with his contacts in the culinary community. The event will bring in some culinary heavy hitters, including:

In addition to the fabulous fare, event-goers can relax in the "Chil-lax Lounge" featuring 14 beers from around the world, wine, and Absolut vodka and Malibu Rum cocktails including the new Absolut Berri Acai, while enjoying a keiki hula performance by Halau Hula O Leolani and a concert with popular local artists Maunalua, and Brad Kawakami, Herb Ohta Jr. and Jennifer Perri. And, meet DJ extrordinaire Maleko McDonald from I-94, who will be the guest emcee for the evening.
Other activities will include a "keiki corner" from the Lokahi Giving Project with games and activities and a booth from the Independence Day at Maunalua Bay Foundation. Boat rides from Hawaii Water Sports Center will also be provided on the marina for a nominal fee with proceeds benefitting the IDMBF. Plus, Active Sports Massage of Koko Marina will offer their healing hands with chair massages for some relaxation! And there will be raffles and a chance to win a neighbor island getaway courtesy of "Royal Lahaina Resort and Go! Hawaii's Low Fare Airline.
